Aerospace Industry

In conjunction with press and oven manufacturers, we have designed and installed several Hot Die handling systems into a well known jet engine manufacturing company in the UK.

 The system transfers the die to the heating oven until the required temperature is reached, It is then transferred to the press where the part is formed before being moved back to the oven where it is cooled. Once sufficiently cooled, the oven is unloaded and the die moved to the unloading area.

Heavy Industry

In conjunction with IAC, we have installed a steel former handling line into a well known steel producing company.  IAC were the ideal partner for this project as they have been involved with several previous projects and were on the preferred supplier list.

In this system, the continuous stream of parts from the former are accelerated to produce gaps. When they reach the conveyor end, they are picked up by a magnetic head. They are then stacked to a pre-defined pattern before being discharged. The operator then manually straps the bundle, ready for a fork truck to take it away.

System Integration

We integrate components from many different manufactures to provide a complete solution. This includes interfacing to existing production lines and production data systems.

For example, a reel will have a barcode or RFID tag. As the reel goes past a scanning station, the tag is read and the production data system is queried to return information about the reel. This data can be used for the process and can include packing, collating, verification and labelling specifics.

At the component level, all items are sourced from reputable companies including, but not limited to, Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Rittal, Red Lion, Telemechanique, Balluff, Wenglor, Murr Elektronik, Phoenix Contact, Turck Banner, Lapp, Bosch Rexroth and Schmersal.

We design and build all our control panels to the current EU standards. These range from a single 600mmx600mm panel to a suite of 1200mmx2000mm panels

At the system level, we integrate wrappers, conveyors, printers, carts, elevators, strapping machines and robots to create the required result. Most of these only require simple handshaking, but more complicated schemes can be accommodated.

On large systems, a major fieldbus (Profibus/Net, DeviceNet, EthernetIP etc) will be used to reduce the interconnections and reduce the installation time. The type will depend on the control system employed. Distributed drives are preferred to reduce wiring.

A HMI gives all the necessary information to run the system and to diagnose any malfunctions that may arise without opening any panels.

Flexible Packaging

When you require a complete packaging solution.

Here we see a system that takes coils of film from a winder, prints and applies a label to the belly and inside the core, completely wraps the coil and stacks them on a pallet to a pre-defined pattern

Conveyors

Our conveyor systems are designed to be robust and are the ideal method for transporting heavy items within a production area.

We offer a wide range of Roller, Belt and Slat conveyors to suit operational requirements. These will link other sections of equipment together. Kickers, cushions and tilting decks transfer coils laterally from one conveyor to another. Up-enders and down-enders rotate coils from belly to end and vice versa

Manipulators

Our manipulators are designed to be ergonomic and will satisfy health and safety requirements for moving products within the work area.

We offer a range of arms and gantry systems to which the manipulator head is attached. Gantry systems may be powered if the load requires it.
