SCM are pleased to announce the successful installation and commissioning of two high speed keg an cask handling systems for Greene King Brewery’s Bury-St-Edmunds operation.
Both systems utilise the KUKA KR700 PA Robot with bespoke keg and cask grippers as well the KUKA KR120 PA with bespoke locator board grippers. The systems are capable of handling 600 kegs or casks in and out an hour, providing a significant uplift in production for Greene King whilst at the same time removing the amount of manual handling required.
The delivery and installation of the two systems was staggered with the keg handling cell being the first to be delivered to site. The system was delivered, installed and functional within seven days with SCM following a carefully orchestrated and executed installation plan.
Due to the tried and tested, modular nature of the equipment supplied, installation time was kept to a minimum for the customer ensuring minimum disruption to Greene King’s tight production schedule.
