Another year, another successful SCM Open House Event.

Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd March saw us host another successful Open House Event at our Taunton manufacturing facility. The two day event was well attended by a range of customers from varying industries and also some of our key suppliers including KUKA Robotics UK, Festo UK, Sensopart Vision, Wessex Packaging and Leuze Electronic.

Guests were able to see demonstrations of a range of handling equipment including a Robotic Roll Unload system which incorporated human/robot collaboration and automated palletising systems including the integration of KUKA’s Arctic Robot capable of operation in temperatures of -40°C. In addition to this a range of our manual handling equipment and KUKA’s collaborative LBR IWWA Robot were available for guests to interact with.

Other highlights included keynote speaker Michael Fraede, Market Segment Manager for FMCG at KUKA Group who provided us all with a fascinating insight into Industry 4.0 and the future of robotics in industry.

Fostering the engineers of tomorrow is one of our key values so we were delighted to host both Bridgwater College and The Kings of Wessex Academy in Cheddar who all gained a valuable insight into our industry and engineering in general.

Thank you to all that made the two days such a success and we hope to see you all at the next one!
